What to look for
- Who finds the competitors. Most tools watch the companies you name. If you don't know who's coming for your buyer, you need one that finds them.
- What it reads. A page monitor sees the pages you add. Competitor monitoring also covers launches, founders' posts, what people say about them and pricing.
- How it reaches you. A dashboard you have to visit gets visited less every week. An email you read with coffee gets read.
- Signal over noise. A rotating testimonial isn't news. Look for a tool that says what changed and why it matters, and stays quiet otherwise.
How Pesky does it
Type your website and Pesky names your 10 closest competitors. Keep them, and every morning it reads each one and sends one email: who moved, the evidence (the homepage lines added and removed, the post, the price that changed), and a line on why it matters to your company. A quiet morning is two lines. An example of one move, as it reads in the email:
| Rival (rival.io) | Pricing changed · 1 new LinkedIn post |
|---|---|
| Pricing page | + Pro · $29/mo − Pro · $49/mo |
| Why it matters | A 41% cut on the plan your buyers compare you with. Worth checking whether your own entry price still holds up. |

What is competitor monitoring?
Keeping track of what your competitors change in public: their website copy and pricing, launches, what they post, what people say about them, and how their search visibility moves. A tool does the checking so you only read what changed.
Which competitor monitoring tool is best for a small team or a founder?
One that finds your competitors for you, reads them without setup per page, and tells you what changed in a few lines, not a dashboard you have to visit. That's what Pesky is built for. If you need to watch one specific page every few minutes, a page monitor like Visualping fits better; if you run a sales team with battlecards, Crayon or Klue.
Can I monitor competitors' pricing changes?
Yes. Pesky reads each competitor's pricing page every morning and says which prices came and went, with a cut of 20% or more flagged at the top. Page monitors like Visualping and Hexowatch can watch a pricing page you set up yourself.
Is Google Alerts enough to monitor competitors?
Google Alerts tells you when a competitor's name shows up in news and on the web. It won't tell you that their homepage now targets your buyer, that a price changed, or that their founder announced a launch on LinkedIn.
How much does competitor monitoring cost?
From free (Visualping's 5 pages) to enterprise contracts you book a demo for (Crayon, Klue). Pesky is €50/mo per company: up to 25 competitors, every source, read every morning. Yearly: pay 10 months, get 12.
